About the Art
Every piece begins as an idea and then it is carefully brought to life using the materials I have come to love working with. Most of my inspiration is based on nature, geometry, and sometimes just the crystal itself. Things like vines, flowers, trees have such a natural elegance and perfection that I am always trying to capture in a way that everyone can enjoy. Most of everything I create is constructed from pure copper wire of various gauges and temper. Occasionally I will make things that deviate from this, but at this time that is not with any great frequency. My goal is to provide those who wish to purchase my art with something they can enjoy gazing at and hopefully pass on to loved ones as gifts.
Quality
Handmade - Everything I make that has a handmade label in the description is made by my hands alone.
Crystals - I source each crystal from its native region and I pay careful attention to the quality of the stones that I use. I prefer to work with gemstones that are natural and due to this there may be imperfections in the stones and it is because of this that I will be upfront about the quality of faceted stones and other crystals and gemstones when it comes to visible imperfections and inclusions to the naked eye.
Copper - I use pure 99.9% pure electrical grade copper. At times it will be antiqued and polished to gently age it, but I may also leave it bright and bare so that it may age naturally. It usually depends on the design, but it can also depend on what the commissioner prefers.
Wood - All wood used is solid wood that has been sealed and finished. Wood type will always be listed in the description of the item. All wood that is intended to rest on top of a surface will have a velvet bottom to protect the surface it rests on.
Meet the Artist
I have been an artist for decades, and during that time I’ve explored many different mediums while honing my skills. For me, everything begins as an idea, a spark of inspiration that slowly grows until I bring it into being with patience and intention. Over the years, I’ve learned that no single medium could capture all my visions, which is why my work has evolved to weave together copper, crystals, and other forms of artistic expression. I refuse to be limited due to a lack of skills.
This is not just about bringing my visions to life; it’s about doing so to the best of my ability. I love a challenge and even when those challenges may take more planning and consideration for execution, they are also the most fulfilling. Quality is of the upmost importance to me. Not just quality of work, but also quality of materials. I prefer to work with crystals that maintain their natural imperfections provided it doesn’t harm the integrity of the stone. To me the imperfections are symbolic, since these Crystals and minerals are created in extreme environments the inclusions and fractures reflect the pressure that formed the stone. Much like how the pressure of life forms us. The art I create isn’t simply about bringing something beautiful into the world, it is very much about the symbolism of life itself and how everything, especially the imperfect things, are still beautiful.
