Frequently Asked Questions
Commissions
How are commissions done?
First you will contact me by filling out the form found here.
Provide a detailed description of what you are looking for including the size and crystal type. Sharing your budget range helps me design a piece that truly fits your vision while staying comfortably within what you’d like to spend. For example, jewelry, trees, plants, flowers etc. This really is not limited by what you see for sale on my site. If you don’t specifically know what you would like aside from the item itself helpful information would be item type, crystal type (if unknown then color of crystal) a theme or the purpose for the item.
I will then go into further detail with you, and we can do this by photograph of something you have seen, or you can describe what you want or a theme of what you are looking for and once we have discussed the design, I will then provide a rough sketch of the design. I may also provide actual weave samples of different weaves for certain elements so you can get an idea of what those parts may look like depending on what it is you want created.
Once everything has been agreed upon, I will give you the total cost of the piece, of which 50% of the total cost must be paid and will become non-refundable once I have started working. You will be given 24 hours’ notice prior to the work starting and I will not start until you respond to the correspondence.
While the work is being done, I like to maintain contact with my commissioners. Depending on what it is you are requesting will determine the amount of contact that is required. For extremely large pieces with a lot of design you may hear from me during each step of the process. Letting you know how things are going not just verbally, but also providing photos as progress is made.
Can changes be made during the project?
It depends on the changes requested and whether the work on that section of the project is completed. If the work is completed and you request a revamp there will be additional charges incurred because of the loss of materials and time.
If the changes are add-ins or embellishments, then the charges incurred will be based on time and materials.
In both circumstances you can most likely expect the estimated time of completion to change.
I am personally very particular. If I believe something isn’t turning out according to plan or if I think that a specific change needs to be made to improve on the design I will say something about it. This may or may not incur additional charges that truly depends upon the embellishment I am requesting to add in.
I have a photo of this tree can you recreate it?
I can recreate almost any natural object. Weather its trees, flowers, insects, or plants. Though some detail may be lost in the reconstruction, I will always do my best to capture your favorite aspects and focal points. With trees what may be lost are the smaller, more underdeveloped branches and with flowers it may be some of the patterning. One thing you can always be sure of is, I will be upfront about what I can and cannot do.
Do you do memorial pieces?
I do indeed do memorial pieces. I do not incorporate cremains into the piece. What I can do for you is work closely with you to make sure that your loved one is honored in a memorable way. If you decide to commission a memorial tree, I can make sure the base of any urn can be nestled into the roots. I can also incorporate places for candles to rest, photographs to be placed, crystal angel statues, and wood engraving.
If you have any additional questions, you are welcome to send in a commission form and I will be happy to answer questions you may have.
